Self-care is a critical part of living a well-balanced life. Unfortunately, it’s one of the first things we ignore in our fast-paced lives. The more hectic our lives become, the more we need self-care.
It seems there are more things to do in a day than there is time to do them. And likely everyone’s need comes before your own. But in order for you to deal best with life’s demands and have the energy and be available to those you love, it is important that you make time for yourself.
Self-care needs to become a habit; part of your daily routine. Schedule time in your day and every week to do things that you enjoy. Make all the necessary arrangements ahead of time, including arranging for babysitters, etc.
Whether it is 15 minutes to take a warm bath, a walk around the block, or a movie night, it is imperative to take care of you, before stress and fatigue compromises your health. That doesn’t help anyone.
The more refreshed and rested you are, the more you will be able to care for the people and things that matter most in your life. Scheduling “Me” time will make a huge difference in your satisfaction and fulfillment and life.
