Every day, in some way, opportunity knocks on your door. And if you take too long to answer the door, opportunity, like any visitor, will move on.
There is a divine and natural timing of everything in life. If you’ll pay attention, you’ll notice that everything has a rhythm. Your body has its rhythm, of waking and sleeping. There's even perfect timing for comedy, otherwise it's not funny.
This rhythm is everywhere and in everything, and when you’re relaxed, engaged and in step with it, everything will work well for you.
However, procrastination takes you out of the natural rhythm of life. Usually procrastination comes from fear and tension. If you’ve ever tried to dance when you’re afraid or anxious, you understand how easy it can be to lose your rhythm. Fortunately, it’s just as easy to find it again.
The next time you find yourself procrastinating, simply take a deep breath, relax your entire body, and say YES. From there, take immediate action to step in time with your opportunities and see what happens.
In the meantime, ask yourself, “What opportunities are knocking on my door today?”
